On yet another sunny and warm afternoon, a large pack including a returning visitor from Aberdeen H3, Ballerina, made it to the start for run #1265.

The hare had the pack wondering when she sprayed everyone with midge repellent, where were we going? After a short chalk-talk, the mules were issued with rucksacks and ON-OUT was called accompanied by the baying of the hash pooches.

The collapsible pooch did his party stunt and collapsed on trail and Check Me Out stayed behind and ended up trying to carry the 40+ kilogram pooch back to the start whilst the rest of the pack headed into the forest. The meandering trail finally brought us to the mobile refreshment stop where the view of the airport and surrounding fjords was enjoyed whilst sipping Pink Russian, Gin and Tonic (with ice!) and Tonic-only for the drivers and trying to fight off the midges.

After the refreshment stop, the trail took us through the remains of the WW2 German gun positions on Storrinden, past Hammarslandgrenda and ON-ON to the ON-INN.

In the circle, the normal misdemeanours were punished followed by some excellent nosh (there was even a non-fish version for the two landlubbers - well done Guinea Pig!) all washed down with wine, cider and beer.
