Quite a few hashers turned up for run #1296, the 2016 Winter Solstice run. After a short chalk talk, ON-OUT was called and probably to the relief of the hare's somewhat grumpy neighbours, the pack set off in search for the trail.

Some hashers hoped for a multiple-drink-stop run around Danmarksplass, but the hare had promised "a dark, wet, hard and long run" and the trail followed a meandering path up and down-down streets on Damsgård to a photo opportunity at Damsgård hovedgård. From there the trail, including approx. 30 meters of virgin trail, headed for the Christmas tree in front of the church on Damsgård for a well-deserved mobile refreshment stop.

The remaining trail took the pack back to the ON-INN and circle, which was cut short due to a heavy downpour of hail. A variation of Shepard's pie washed down with gin (and tonic), whisky and beer was on offer after the circle.
