Shortcuts to the True Trail

Run #1313 - Wednesday 5 April 2017
  • Destination: Fløyen
  • Hares: Deep Throat and Foggy Glasses
  • In the pack: Abominator, Flasher, Comes Every Time, Dog Handler, Mata Hari, Camp Toilet, Bubbles, Hara Kari, Guinea Pig, Bambi, Teacher's Pet, Hash Cock, Horse Pegasus and Kangooclit
  • Your scribe: Foggy Glasses

An average sized pack turned up at the hare's abode, hoping for a civilised stroll from pub to pub in the City Centre it being Kangooclit's birthday - but there was a surprise in wait: the hare had gone for her "normal" spring trail up Fløien and back down again.

Maybe the chalk talk was not clear enough, but having jogged through town, only the two hares rode the rails up the mountain whilst the rest of the pack jogged and/or walked up Fløien. After some waiting, the whole pack finally gathered around the troll at the lookout point on Fløien.

From there the trail followed a meandering path through the forest, including a game stop, to a check-n-wait at Fløypilen. It would have been a mobile refreshment stop if it had not been for a change of mind by the hare. Instead, the trail continued DOWN-DOWN Tippetue to a secluded refreshment stop with a grand view of Bergen.

After a short while ON-OUT was called. The trail took the pack ON-ON down to Fjellveien and Lille Øvregate before rounding Lille Lungegårdsvann and finally, for a "standard" drink-stop at Gjestehuset.

Due to the lateness of the day, the hare had the pack ON-OUT before hashers had time to order a second beer. The remainder of the trail was a short affair to the ON-INN and circle. The usual misdemeanours were handed out in addition to Horse Pegasus' tea bag for having turned up in new shoes. The evening was rounded off with an excellent lamb curry, perhaps the best curry served in the whole of Bergen!
