Shortcuts to the True Trail

Run #178 - Wednesday 8 December 1999
  • Destination: Laksevåg
  • Hare: Ugly Dick
  • In the pack: Yogi, Abominator, Foggy Glasses, Dog Handler, Bubbles, Wallbanger, Mata Hari and Just Oddmar
  • Your scribe: Bubbles

Eight brave harriers and an even braver Harriett showed up in Laksevåg to take part in whatever Ugly Dick had planned for us. We were running up and down and criss-cross in all these roads called Upper-, Lower- and Middle Damsgårdsvei and Upper-, Lower- and Middle Stadionvei (quite fascinating way of naming streets). Ugly Dick must be a true lover of T, because wherever it was possible to place a check-back, there was one.

After a long, long run, when we were all out of breath, there suddenly appeared a sing stop. The moving story about the Lion Hunt was gracefully performed, and we ran another 100 meters (!) to the drink stop. The regular frontrunners had of course passed it, and had to be called back!! Our novice, Just Oddmar meant that the building near the DS looked too dry, so he committed the serious offence of PODS. He was, however, not the only offender; Later, three of our most committed members short cutted by passing a T!!

For those of you who is interested in our local history, we passed by the u-boat bunker, other picturesque old building in Lower Laksevåg, and finally Damsgåd Hovedgård before we reached the ON-INN.
Run summary
A run worth to remember, not to forget!!
Hash Nosh summary
A spaghetti dish deliciously prepared by Ugly Dick, or one of the many women living with him
Down-downsReason for down-downs
Ugly DickFor being a hare and teaching us the whereabouts of all streets in Laksevåg (well almost)
Foggy Glasses & Mata HariPrivate partying and shortcutting (again)
AbominatorFor bragging about the length of I-don't-know-what in Denmark

And then the RA obviously thought that there was nothing more worth celebrating, and the circle ended. (I rest my case!!).
