Because it was pre-winter holiday week in Bergen, a slightly smaller than average pack headed for bandit country in Åsane (see below), the northernmost environs of Bergen, for run #1369.

The winter weather including a new layer of ice on roads, made running a bit challenging so a majority of the pack defaulted to walking. After a longish walk, the pack was treated to a warming 'gløgg' (glühwein) stop in a dark and dank wintery forest. Well refreshed, the pack headed back to built-up areas and a second refreshment stop. Having worried the locals by proxy, the pack headed for the ON-INN and circle. After the circle, the pack was treated to some excellent nosh, before the hash convoy headed back to town.

Bandit country - As was the case when we were in the same area on run #1222, we were again noticed by the locals. The following day a theft was reported in the area and Nordhordaland, a local newspaper, quoted the local sheriff saying that gangs had marked houses worth breaking into by drawing strange markings on roads (article in Norwegian only). It is just as well that gun laws in Norway are quite strict, otherwise hashing in Åsane could be a dangerous affair!

Postscript: Later, the local sheriff and newspaper were informed who we are. The newspaper requested some pictures from the run and the next day ran a follow-up article explaining everything (article in Norwegian only). The same article without the pictures was published in another local newspaper, Bergens Avisen, a few days later.
