Run #1319 - Wednesday 17 May 2017 | |
A surprisingly large pack, 18 in all including a nearly-virgin hasher who last seen on a run in 1999, turned up at the hare's abode in time for run #1319 (a late-comer joined the pack halfway through the run). On the 17 May, which is the Norwegian National Day, most people usually do other things than hash from pub to pub - and that is just what the hares had in store for the pack. Before the ON-ON was called, each member of the pack was issued with a Norwegian flag. The trail meandered from the hare's abode, past an old wooden building that went up in flames a couple of days ago, and after 500 metres ON-ON to a virgin pub. After a relaxing beer, ON-OUT was called and the pack set off again, following the trail through the narrow streets on Nordnes before heading in the direction of the City Park where thousands of tulips were in full bloom. From there, the trail meandered around Lille Lungegårdsvann and ON-ON to "Huset pub". After a while, Dog Handler noticed that along the trail somewhere, the nearly virgin hasher had lost his way. Contact was established by phone, and he was guided to the pub. After a relaxing double drink-stop, ON-OUT was called and the pack started on the last part of the trail. Most hashers were completely knackered and ignored all the remaining markings before passing the ON-INN. In the circle, various misdemeanours were punished before the GM was placed on a bowl of gin and tonic ice cubes to celebrate her 200th run with BH3. After the circle, the pack was treated to a veritable feat laid on by the hostess, supplemented by scallops supplied by Abominator and a cake supplied by Dancing Queen, all washed down with bubbly, gin and tonic (sans ice cubes) and beer.
