Run #1342 - Wednesday 13 September 2017 | |
A small pack turned up at the hare's abode in time for the run. Maybe it was the hare's reputation for laying long and hard runs that had scarred hashers from attending; it could certainly not have been the weather. Or maybe it was ... 2 minutes into the run the pack was seen huddled in a porch whilst praying that a rain shower would piss off. The hare was having no nonsense and had the pack scurrying off in the direction of Store Lungegårdsvann and ON-UP Fløenbakken. Having reached Haukeland sykehus, some of the pack feared the worst expecting a re-run of the 2017 Killer Hill trail. Lo and behold, we were called ON-BACK and set off in the direction of the main tram depot alongside Inndalsveien, were the hare had even found a few hundred metres of virgin trail! Everybody was expecting a short stroll ON-INN to a pub, but all hope was dashed when the trail took us around Solheimsvannet, across the main road and ON-UP via devious routes to Løvstien. The view was grand, as always, but most hashers were knackered and thirsty and in no fit state to enjoy it. The trail continued along Løvstien to Skillingsbollen, before finally starting the descent towards civilisation and watering holes. After a long run, we found ourselves outside Prego where a double drink stop revived the pack. After an all too short drink stop, the hare called ON-OUT and off we scampered across Nygårdsbroen and through Nygårdsaparken, where the hare noticed three hashers were missing. Contact was established by phone, and the three hapless hashers elected to go straight to the ON-INN whilst the rest of the pack headed for the top of Nygårdsparken and followed a meandering trail to the ON-INN and back to the hare's abode. The usual punishments were handed out in the circle, especially to the hashers who had spent the weekend in Jondal and posted many films on Facebook, although most had been deleted probably due to the rather explicit content. After the circle, the hare served a traditional Norwegian autumn fare, 'fårikål' (mutton and cabbage) and potatoes. Having expected 20 hashers, there was more food than the pack was able to consume. |
