Run #1472 - Sunday 22 September 2019
  • Destination: Rundavatnet
  • Hares: Mata Hari and Dog Handler
  • In the pack: Foggy Glasses, Comes Every Time, Deep Throat, Camp Toilet and Headless
  • Your scribe: Foggy Glasses

Yet another warm and sunny day greeted the hashers as everybody stirred from a deep slumber. In fact the temperature had reached 22°C by the time the run was over.

As the hosts decreed yesterday, it was not the first hasher to bed who laid the run but the hosts themselves, because they had something other than a four-corner run planned.

After an excellent breakfast, everybody packed a lunch and their gear because it would be ON-HOME straight after the run. After a while, ON-OUT was called and the pack sans GM (no chance of a tea bag today either) set off in the direction of the train station. From there the pack (no trail marked but we had live hares) was led down to the river and across on the rather rickety suspension bridge. Once across the river, the trail took us on the path leading across the mountains to Ulvik, a 9-hour walk no less.

Arriving at a lake after about an hour, the pack relaxed at the drink-stop and enjoyed a few beers. Soon, ON-OUT was called and lo and behold, we backtracked all the way back to the cabin!

Everyone, including the non-running GM, was punished in the circle. The GM even insisted on a teabag with one of her old shoes. Having completed the circle, everyone piled into the available chariots and headed back to Bergen after a warm and most enjoyable Mjølfjell weekend.
