Shortcuts to the True Trail

Run #164 - Wednesday 8 September 1999 | |||||||||||||||
Fourteen hashers gathered at the parking place, among them two virgins and one newcomer, hereafter referred to as vircomers. We started running from Beer Stop's residence near the aquarium, and continued in a zigzag pattern never before seen in known hash history. For some odd reason, the hares had decided to explore all the streets of central Nordnes, and we checked them all out. To manage this without backtracking or crossing the trail, there were heaps of checkback and checkpoints. One could of course say that it was a masterpiece in tight markings, but would we say a thing like that! Even with these foolproof markings, some of us, namely Foggy Glasses had to shortcut around Tollboden. He was probably looking for a down-down, but he didn't succeed ... The D-stop was at Trappen establishment, and that was the farthest off we were from the starting point!!! After the refreshment, we crossed the range of hills (Markeveien that is), and ran down on the West Side of the Nordnes peninsula. We were led on to a new marking, a circle with a C in it. The hares arranged a competition in their attempt to keep the pack together. The competition was some kind of relay race, and the price was a can of you-know-what. Creepy Crawly won this race, of course, but he was so occupied winning that he didn't notice that the rest of the pack drank the can while he was racing. (Are we hashers, or are we?)
